About Me

Meet Dr. Ingrid Sellschop

Ingrid Sellschop completed her undergraduate studies in Physiotherapy in 1995, at the University of the Witwatersrand. She then went on to complete  her Masters in Medical science, majoring in Rehabilitation at Stellenbosch University, and in 2015, she completed her Doctorate in Physiotherapy at the University of the Witwatersrand.She furthered her interests in orthopeadics and pain management by completing courses in OMT and Pain management at an APDL 2 status.  She is a guest lecturer in Pain Neuroscience and Communication skills for undergraduate and post-graduate physiotherapy students at Wits. Having a passion for understanding and managing both the physical, psychological and emotional challenges experienced by her patients, she uses her skills acquired in her training as a Counsellor with FAMSA, as well as her training as an accredited Life Coach, to provide a comprehensive and empowering treatment approach when dealing with patient injury, trauma or illness related painful conditions. Ingrid is an avid road and trail runner and enjoys the challenge of helping athletes to rehabilitate their injury so that they can get back to their sporting activity with confidence and security. She established her physiotherapy practice in 1998.
